Where are the fish biting?

Forrest Parson at Hungry Jack Lodge reports that a 28-inch walleye was caught in 10 feet of water on a night crawler harness after dark on Hungry Jack Lake. Smallmouth bass ranging from 15 to 18 inches are being caught on leeches and crawlers. Leo Lake is producing rainbow trout trolling or still fishing with a crawler.

And there are a few grouse around – hunting will get better as the leaves drop off.

Capt. Jerry Skarupa of Secret Lures Charters reports that surface temperatures on Lake Superior are around 50 degrees. Lake trout are still around at various depths from 120 feet to the surface. Few salmon are around.
