Family and friends of Kevin and Sue Johnson of Schroeder had a great weekend of fishing. (L-R) Anna Carman of Lutsen with a 5.5-pound Coho salmon, Cary Weatherhead of Metamora, Michigan with a 9-pound lake trout; and Jesse Johnson of Schroeder with a 7.2-pound lake trout. The group caught several smaller fish as well.
Capt. Jerry Skarupa of Secret Lures Charters says the surface temperatures on Lake Superior are 55 degrees, and the lake trout fishing is absolutely great at various depths. Salmon are still around.
The Johnsons also did some inland fishing. Five-year-old grandson Brennen caught this very nice 20-inch walleye.
Not to be outdone, his sister McKenna caught a nice 16-inch walleye too.
