If you can get out between the raindrops you just might be able to catch a few fish. The water is still chilly and when I was doing a little perch fishing, I noticed they were full of minnows. Probably explained why I caught so few on night crawlers. I’m a pro, don’cha know?
Word out at East Twin and Two Island was that minnows and leeches in 12 to 18 feet spelled some success. Jigs and lindy rigs as well as the ol’ slip bobbers were being employed.
Trolling with Rapalas could land a couple in Devil Track Lake in 6 to 12 feet or so. Also might want to head up to Homer or Lichen and give it a shot. Lake trout in Greenwood were down about 30 to 40 feet or so. Spoons and jigs tipped with ciscoes or minnows was the course of action for some.
On Trout Lake rainbows and lakers were hitting for those so inclined to head thataway. Finally, the brookies came out to play in Carrot and Shoe lakes so grab some crawlers and your fly fishing stuff and head out for some dandy fly action.
Tyson at the Beaver House said walleyes are biting on Devil Track, Elbow, and Crescent lakes in the evenings using leeches and crawlers on pink or orange Beaver Flicks.
In the local streams brook trout are biting good now.
Rainbow trout are being caught on Mink and Kimball lakes, and a nice size rainbow came out of Trout Lake this past week.
Lake trout are being caught on Lake Superior 140 to 180 feet deep.
