Where are the fish biting?

Warm weather has brought the fishermen out in force and John at Buck’s Hardware said there have been reports of good walleye fishing on South Fowl Lake in 6 – 8 feet water using jig and minnow by the river.

Fishermen stopping by Buck’s Hardware have been catching lake trout on Gunflint Lake in 25 feet of water, down 10 feet using ciscoes; on Kemo Lake in 30 feet of water down 15 feet with minnows; and on Trout Lake in 35 feet of water 15 – 20’ feet down using minnows and jig.

At Holiday, anglers have reported success on Lake Saganaga in 38 feet of water using whole ciscoes. According to Tim at Holiday, Sag has great fishing—good travel, no slush and lots of ice.
