Where are the fish biting?

Julie Collman, her daughter Jessica and Mark Welinski of Duluth were fishing on Lake Saganaga on June 28 when they came upon this huge 37-inch-plus northern pike floating— with a red sucker stuck in its mouth. Julie noted, “The pike literally bit off more than it could chew.”

Captain Jerry Skarupa of Secret Lures reports that the water in Lake Superior is still very cold­— 38 to 39 degrees!

Salmon are being found at varying depths, and most lake trout are at the bottom between 110 and 180 feet.
