Sabra Heimerl, Justin Clark and Mike Brobeck with their catch on July 31. The anglers were aboard Secret Lures with Captain Jerry Skarupa. They caught 12 trout and eight salmon.
Tyson at the Beaver House says there is good walleye fishing action on Devil Track, Crescent, Two Island and Elbow lakes using Beaver Flicks. Northern pike are also biting good all over.
Rainbow trout have been good on Mink, Kimball and Trout lakes on crawlers and Beaver Flicks.
Smallmouth bass are biting good all over on leeches, flicks, raps and spinners. Lake trout and salmon are being caught in 120 feet of water 40 to 80 feet down.
Finally, brookies are biting in area lakes and streams.
The big fish news of the week is of course the Fisherman’s Picnic Big Fish Contest at Buck’s Hardware. The contest closes Saturday, August 4 at 5 p.m. The folks with the biggest fish at press time are:
