Where are the fish biting?

Jon at Buck’s Hardware Hank reports that fishing has slowed for the most part but there’s action on Devil Track Lake from 18 to 25 feet. Try trolling some Rapalas down deep. Others are using slip bobbers once they locate the fish.

Elbow Lake reported both walleyes and northerns with leeches and minnows. Some rainbows can be found on Leo Lake and Kimball Lake down deep. However the most chatter is still about Lake Superior as people are getting salmon and lake trout. Salmon are still generally shallow, trolling in less than 100 feet. In fact people are casting off shore for a few fish.

Lakers are in the same range, though some are going deeper for lakers as well.

Tyson at the Beaver House says that walleye fishing action on Devil Track, Crescent, Two Island and Elbow lakes has been good using Beaver Flicks.

Northern pike are also biting on Elbow and Pike lakes.

Rainbow trout have been good on Mink, Kimball and Trout lakes on crawlers and Beaver Flicks. Smallmouth bass are biting good all over on leeches, flicks, raps and spinners.

Lake trout and salmon are being caught in 120 feet of water 40 to 80 feet down. Water temp is 69 degrees.
