Where are the fish biting?

Beaver House reports that walleye are biting Beaver Flick lures on Flour, Crescent, Two Island Lakes and on Lake Saganaga.

He says lake trout are biting on Saganaga, Gunflint, Trout, Duncan, Bearskin, Greenwood and Clearwater Lakes.

Rainbow Trout have been caught at Leo, Kimball, Mink, Birch, Birch, Esther and Trestle Pine Lakes. Tyson says anglers have good luck

with bass on Two Island, Devil Track, Seagull, Sag, Northern Light and

Greenwood Lakes. One fisherman

reported a very nice bass—19- inches caught on a Beaver Flick.

John at Buck’s Hardware says fishermen have reported that walleyes are biting on Lake Saganaga in 25 feet of water using a jig and minnow; on Poplar Lake in 20 feet of water drifting a Lindy Rig with leeches; on Loon Lake in 25 feet with a jig and minnow; on Devil Track Lake by trolling “raps” slow and on Two Island Lake in15 feet of water with jig and minnow. Buck’s also reports that lake trout are being caught in Greenwood Lake in 55-60 feet of water jigging with spoons. They are also being found in 150 – 180 feet of water on Lake Superior.

The trout added to a great Boundary Waters trip with his Aunt Katie, Uncle John, and cousins Eileen, Shannon and Sarah. Friends Nancy and Tom from Grand Marais joined in on the fun.

However, the big lake is too cold for salmon!

A few anglers have had luck catching rainbow trout at Kimball Lake in 15 feet of water using crawlers.

And Carrot Lake is the place to fish for brook trout, in 12 feet of water using crawlers.
