What will 2011 bring?

I wonder about 2011. One hopes that this New Year will bring better things and brighter times, but I wonder.

I believe this country and its people are now too damaged to prosper in any way. We have borders we have not and cannot control. We have shelters full of discarded people; shelters full of discarded animals; United States military veterans sleeping in the streets of America.

We are encouraged to recycle our wastes, while at the same time big companies dump toxic waste in our oceans. They kill off marine life in wholesale fashion as we speak, and receive a small fine, thanks to some lobbyist or paidfor politician.

We have been programmed to sit back and watch all that is happening and do nothing about it. I heard a saying years ago, and it holds true today, “75% of all people are asleep, 25% of all people are awake, and constantly amazed.”

The public has been programmed to chase and care about the god of their choosing (money). What happened to your God? I wonder about 2011.
