What happened to the right to express one’s opinion?

Imagine for a moment that masks were ineffective. That the vaccines were harmful. That Black Lives Matter has nothing at all to do with black lives. That white supremacy is used for control. That the mobs coming into our country illegally has less to do with welcoming the disadvantaged into our country but more to do with sex-trafficking. That the truth is not being told by the media. That our country is on the precipice of a Marxist state. That truth is what you make it. And to express that you believe in any one of these things just mentioned, much less all of them, one would be censored. One would be labeled a fool. One would be cut-off from those who once held them dear. End of discussion.

You just imagined me. I’m considered unthoughtful for not wearing a mask. I’m medically ignorant for not believing in our so-called vaccines, which are not a true vaccine, so Merriam-Webster Dictionary changed the definition. I’m deemed a racist for expressing that BLM money goes, in part, to the founder’s $3.2 million purchase of LA mansions and very little goes to the black community. I’m certainly a white supremist just because I am a white male and proud of it. I must be inhospitable to be saddened by all the 90,000 abandoned children along with the 172,000 migrants in March alone who are crammed on floors to sleep. I must be a reincarnated Joe McCarthy because our country has all the fixins of a communist country, much to the delight of Bill Gates, George Soros’, and the many lined up politicians. I’m one of those ultra-conservatists because I maintain that mainstream news is not news at all. I must be some kind of phobic because I think boys are boys and girls are girls as the doctor can shout the news when the newborn is delivered with one peek.

What happened to the day that we could talk about it? Now you express it, and it can be censored. I marvel that this fact alone doesn’t make everyone want to sit up and wonder when they will be the next to be chopped off. What was once censored – flagrant, inappropriate sex on TV is now acceptable but not someone wanting to take an issue with any one from the list above.

Believe it or not, I’m as angry as you are, but for opposite reasons. Reasoning no longer works. I did with one individual, using the “imagination” approach that I began with and was sympathized with – primarily for being wrong in what I imagined to be true. End of discussion.
