What does the Cook County Senior Center mean to me?

I am an 84-year-old widow. I am a retired nurse from the North Shore Hospital. I live alone in a little house in town which is owned by my daughter and her husband. They live in Eau Claire, WI. My older son Art lives in town and my younger son David is in the Air Force in Colorado.

Joyce Kehoe brought me to the Senior Center for my first time many years ago. I now am an avid participant. I am almost always there five days a week. I enjoy lunch there daily and participate in daily activities such as bingo and cards. I also enjoy trips especially to the casino.

I am proud to volunteer at the Senior Center. On Thursdays and Fridays, I answer phones, take lunch reservations and set the tables for lunch.

I look forward to all of my activities at the Senior Center. We have a lot of fun together. I hope that more folks will give it a try and join us.
