Wellness Fair at the Cook County Fair

The Cook County Early Childhood Coalition (CCECC), with support from the Northland Foundation, is pleased to announce that it will be hosting a “Family Health and Wellness Fair” on August 21 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., in conjunction with the Cook County Fair.

The Health and Wellness Fair will be held along Creechville Road, at the Search and Rescue Building and at the Grand Marais Fire Hall. Various community organizations that provide services to young children and their families will be present at the Health and Wellness fair. Dr. Malin Aseby-Gesch, Public Health and Human Services, Violence Prevention center and Arrowhead Electric are just a few of the organizations represented, with many more joining them.

CCECC is also teaming with the Car Seat Clinic to promote motor vehicle safety. There will be big trucks, a school bus, law enforcement vehicles, fire trucks and more for the children to see and explore.

As a special bonus there will be several prize drawings in the afternoon. There is an array of extremely nice gifts for families. Register after you’ve visited each of the organizations represented. Prizes include a Burley stroller and children’s safety helmets, Step 2 climbers, swimming passes, life jackets, and grocery gift certificates.

The Cook County Early Childhood Coalition’s purpose for hosting this Family Health and Wellness fair is to expose young families to the local resources that provide health and wellness information, strategies and activities. The organization hopes to make it easy for families to identify ways to live a healthy, active lifestyle in our community.

By providing children and their families the tools they need to succeed early in life, we can ensure a thriving community for years to come.

Organizers invite everyone to join them August 21 from 11:00 am to 1:00 p.m. at the Search and Rescue Building.
