Website will inform voters

Before you vote on the operating levy referendum for I.S.D. 166 Cook County Public Schools, I encourage you to check a new posting on www. CookCountySchools.org for responses to recently expressed questions from some community members. Click on the “question mark” icon for an understanding of questions like:

* Why is it that in Mahtomedi School District the MCA-II test scores look better than ours at a lesser per student cost?

* Has I.S.D. 166 really made reductions in its budget? (A preview to this answer is that our recent preliminary audit showed a reduction of more than $430,000 over the previously published reduction of $866,000.)

* Isn’t the operating levy just a Band- Aid? How does I.S.D. 166 plan to fix the finance problem?

* Why hasn’t the school tried to rent out portions of the building?

Much other information is also available on the district’s website. If you have limited computer access, I would be more than happy to answer your questions by phone (387-1729) or see that you receive a print copy.

All I can ask is that every voter becomes an informed voter.
