Knowing myself as I do, I’ll be the first to admit I’m not the most genteel communicator.
But what I lack in communication skills, I make up for by being unabashedly honest. I speak my mind and call things as I see ’em. And in my book, I’d rather be known for being honest than a person whose silky words sound impressive but are infested with deception.
So why the self-examination? I simply point these things out in hopes of qualifying what I am about to say:
As a life-long resident of Cook County, some 70 years, I have never seen such an (and I need to bite my tongue here and remember to only use words I know the paper will print) unqualified, dysfunctional, self-serving, deceptive and outright arrogant group of people put in charge of decisions that affect our livelihoods here in Cook County. They need to go or they will destroy this county!
Some will claim it’s “unprofessional” or even “mean” to make public such a statement. I say it’s irresponsible not to confront the obvious. And believe me I’ve had plenty of opportunity to learn from my interactions with this group, as well as hours of research that began some 25 years ago; research that provides perspective, and unfortunately, details a harsh reality. In other words, my personal experience backs up such a charge.
Let me throw this out there and, if someone can prove me wrong, then prove me wrong.
As I see it, we are left with two options. We either change present county leadership or change our address of residence.
