We all have free will

What an indictment of God’s Church the vote to allow homosexual marriage was last week. I believe the majority vote would not have been yes if we Christians had been living a godly lifestyle, obeying Christ’s great commission to go and tell the world that Jesus shed His innocent blood as payment for the sins of every person in the world. If we had been warning of the judgment of God that is coming upon all who reject Jesus, and God’s Holy Word, there would have been a different outcome.

The Bible says “Without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness for sin.” What is sin? Sin is anything that is against the will of a Holy God. God’s Word lists many sins: pride, unjust anger, gossip, greed, adultery, homosexuality, murder, stealing…to name a few sins of commission; and the sins of omission: not doing what we know is the right thing to do: defending the innocent, helping the needy, standing for righteousness…

Satan would have you believe God would never send anyone to Hell. God does not send anyone to Hell. Those who reject His Son and the gift of salvation will be there by their own choice. Satan would have you believe that you can live any way that you think is right, and you will be just fine. Proverbs 14:12 says “There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the ends thereof are the ways of death.”

Romans 3:23 “All have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” Jesus paid the price for our sin, death, in full. But we must acknowledge and confess our sin, ask Jesus to forgive us and sincerely trust Him as our Savior. Then the Holy Spirit of God begins to work in our life to change our behavior, wants, desires, and goals, etc.

We all have the free will that God created us with, so we can choose to obey God and what He says in His Word or not. The Bible says if the Holy Spirit lives in you, your eternal destiny is to live in Heaven forever with the One Who died for you; no more pain, sorrow, sickness, tears, sin. If He does not live in you, your eternal destiny is Hell. It’s your choice.
