Water quality efforts pay off on Caribou Lake

The Cook County Coalition of Lake Associations (CCCoLA) wishes to commend the Caribou Lake Association and lakeshore property owners for bringing all septic systems into 100% compliance with the county code. The Caribou Lake Association has proactively sought ways to improve lake water quality and are well on the way to doing so especially now with all the problem septics repaired.

The Lake Association has been monitoring water quality for some years, thanks to the efforts of Pat Vaughn, and has now developed a lake management plan that charts the future of Caribou Lake.

With the many pressures put on all of our recreational lakes, the Caribou Lake Association is a model of what dedicated and informed property owners can do to improve lake water quality and maintain a healthy lake.
