Washout needs repair

I am writing this letter to express my concerns and wonderment about a maintenance issue I have observed developing last summer that got noticeably worse this spring. That is the washout and deterioration along the street piling on the harbor side of the Coast Guard parking lot.

At this time the public can no longer walk safely along side the street from the parking lot to the Trading Post due to the exposed anchor rods, electrical eon unit and most of all a park bench that is no longer useable due to the washout next to it.

As a tourist town, the Harbor is a center piece attraction. I wonder what kind of impression our visitors are left with when they are confronted with this situation? I expressed my concerns to the city clerk last week, as we just went through another weekend with the Coast Guard parking lot full of visitors but as of this week nothing has been done to correct the situation.

My biggest wonderment is how the city maintenance department with its equipment, cannot recognize a repair that is certainly within their ability to accomplish. Just thought you would like to know.
