Was research done before job offer?

After reading the EDA board decision to hire Bob Fenwick, I felt compelled to write. According to Mike Littfin, he felt there was not enough emphasis on managerial skills in the interview questions. Where does that leave us?

Regarding Fenwick’s past experience in management—did anyone on the board even take the time to call his last employer to find out why he wasn’t still there? Probably not.

I believe a few on the board had their minds made up before interviews were even done. “Friends in high places” apparently gets you everything in this town. How many references were called on the other applicants?

For someone who wanted to cut salaries and had nothing good to say about the EDA, I have to ask why would Mr. Fenwick even apply? He needs a job maybe?

Like Davison said, “Bob Fenwick brings too much baggage.” It is really unfair that just because you have made friends on the numerous boards you are on, others don’t have a chance when applying for jobs in this county.

I commend Davison and Littfin for standing up for Todd Gervais, the right choice. I believe as a citizen of this community I need to say “enough is enough.” I for one am tired of good people, good candidates, being overlooked.
