I would like to thank the Cook County Board on voting unanimously to spend $11,000 for trail signage. At the same time, they don’t understand that the Border-to-Border (B2B) OHV Touring Route was going to place signage on a lot of the same trails with no cost to the county taxpayers.
This was done with no plan or a 3-year discussion.
You may wonder why signage is important. Well, just like on the interstate, the signs let you know where you are and how far you have to go, they also keep you on your destination path (trail).
I would also like to thank the county board for being indecisive in their dealing with the B2B. All the information that is currently available is out there, umm Google. But our board drug their feet in the snow and could not vote; instead, they spent more money to ask questions that have been answered.
It’s as simple as a YES or NO vote. By not being “able” to vote, it shows a lack of ability to do the job they were voted in to do.
That’s my rant, and just to clear the air, I am in favor of trail signage. It just could have been done at a lower cost.
