Vote for what you stand for

Do you get asked who are you going to vote for? Do you share in discussions with family, friends, and others about what your political views are, and what your hopes for our country are? This is similar to sharing the GOOD NEWS in order to let others know what’s important in our lives.

Oh, oops, there I go mixing politics with religion…

Or maybe I should ask, what are you going to vote for? What do you stand for? Take some time to read and better understand the political platforms of both the major parties trying to win your vote this presidential election season. Here is how to access each of them: . www.gop.com – click on read the full platform. . www.demconvention.com/ platform.

But, no, I can’t, and won’t, separate my being by not letting my hopefully properly informed conscience guide my thoughts, words and actions. I know in my heart that there is a right way and a wrong way to proceed in our daily lives, if we are to be an example to others in promoting the common good. We are shocked and so disappointed in not seeing an overall practicing of virtue and self-control in our country and world.

What we can do about it is look at our own selves and be who we are innately meant to be. We may feel that so much is out of control. It is, and becoming more so. But we must decide that we need to help by being proactive in more than just desiring being able to live in the kind of world that is better for all. We all need to become better stewards of our blessings.

For me, it is to now spend way more time in prayer for our country’s concerns and for the upcoming leadership. I can make a difference. Please, will you?
