Vikings fans appreciate their hard work and hope that someone knowledgeable about volleyball will come forward to do the same for volleyball.

In response to a few calls WTIP Community Radio has received regarding the Vikings girls’ volleyball games, and their desire to have radio broadcasts of the games, station director Deb Benedict is seeking qualified volunteers.

“We would love to be able to do this. But in order to make this happen, we need broadcast volunteers familiar with the language for play by play, team history and knowledge of the team members who would be willing to be trained to take and set up equipment at games,” Benedict said. “They would also need the ability to keep an ongoing flow of plays and information throughout the game to make it an enjoyable experience for our listeners.”

Persons interested in training are asked to call the station at (218) 387-1070.

“We have a valuable asset with Norm and Dick and their commitment to football and boys’ and girls’ basketball. Help us do the same for volleyball,” Benedict added.
