Volleyball team makes light work of Lakeview Christian Academy

Efficient.

The CCHS Viking volleyball team was extremely efficient in its three game sweep of Lakeview Christian Academy last Thursday night in a home game played in front of masked parents spaced six feet or more apart in the bleachers.

Wasting little time, the Vikings dispatched the younger, smaller Lions 25-8, 25-12, 25-3, in the best of five game matches.

While the Vikings made short work of their opponent, there was no attempt to “pile on”. Viking Head Coach Marlene Zimmer made sure her entire bench played throughout the contest.

Charlet Waver was named Player of the Match for the Vikings. Charlet finished with four kills, five aces and a team high 13 digs.

Molly Lavigne ended her night with four kills and three digs. Morgan Starkey had five digs, five kills, and nine ace serves. Emmalli Meyers had four digs, one ace, and two kills. Paisley Smith finished with a team high nine kills, one ace and one dig. Katie Peck had one kill, four kills, and four digs. Rhonnie Poyirier had two digs, and one kill. Other kids who saw action included MaKenzie Fairbanks, who had three digs, RaeAnne Silence three digs, and Kamryn Johnson one dig,

Vikings defeat Northwood 3-2

The Vikings showed a lot of heart by coming back down two games to none to beat Northwoods in an away match played November 10.

After losing 25-15 and 25-22, the Vikings rallied with three straight wins 25-18, 25-19, and 15-12.

With the victory, the Vikings now have four wins and five losses on the season.

Paisley Smith was named Player of the Match for the Vikings. Showing the balance on this team, so far this season Katie Peck, Sadie Wilson, Molly Lavigne, Morgan Starkey and Charlet Waver have have all earned Player of the Match honors.
