Vivian Jeanne McNeally, age 80 – taken by the angels March 24, 2013, after a courageous 13-year battle with breast cancer.
Vivian leaves behind a loving husband of 60 years, Donald; eight children, Kathleen Kotoski (Richard), Stephen McNeally, Sharon Farnham (Steven), Marilyn Burlingame (James), Thomas McNeally (Heidi), Colleen McNiff (Kevin), Kevin McNeally (Nina), Lawrence McNeally; 18 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Patricia Bies (Richard), Margaret (Peg) Likar; and sister-in-law Karen Collins.
Vivian was preceded in death by her brother Daniel E. Collins and brother-in-law Frank Likar.
Vivian was born and raised in White Bear Lake. She married in 1952 and raised her family in White Bear Lake for 34 years. In 1972 the family built a summer home in Hovland on the North Shore of Lake Superior.
She and Donald retired there in 1988, during which time she was chief cook and bottle washer, until health reasons brought them to Vadnais Heights in 2010.
Jeanne was artistic and had many hobbies including camping, traveling, painting, needlework, ceramics, upholstery, cooking and baking and she was an excellent seamstress. She will be missed by family and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial was held April 1, 2013 at St. John’s Church of Little Canada. Interment at St. John’s Cemetery.
Memorials preferred to Our Lady of Peace Hospice Home or Health East Home Hospice Care.
Arrangements by Cremation Society of Minnesota, Brooklyn Park Chapel.
