Virginia Quick,
91, of Lake Elmo, MN, died peacefully at the Lakeview Hospital in Stillwater, MN, on May 17, 2011.
Virginia was born October 22, 1919, in Kingston New York. She married Raymond Quick in 1941, and they lived in New York State until they moved with their two children to Rochester, Minnesota in 1955. When Ray retired, they moved to Grand Marais where they ran the popular Bookstation bookstore and local art gallery, and were involved in community affairs, including the John Beargrease sled dog race.
Virginia is preceded in death by her husband Raymond and her son, Thomas Quick. She is survived by her daughter, Candace Ryberg, with grandchildren and great-grandchildren in Minnesota and Alaska.
A memorial potluck picnic to celebrate Virginia’s life is planned for noon on Saturday, June 25 at the 5 Mile Rock beach on Lake Superior north of Grand Marais.
