If the Vikings played well against Esko, they made the South Ridge Panthers claw and scratch for every point.

The South Ridge Panthers came to Grand Marais on October 12 to face the Vikings in a matchup of two up and coming volleyball teams in the Pam Taylor gymnasium.

Southridge took the first game 25-17, but the Vikings battled back in the second game, falling 25-23, and then fell 25-20 in two very close games.

Sadie Wilson led the Vikings with 21 digs. Paisley Smith finished with six kills and four ace serves and Morgan Starkey ended her night with 17 digs.

Raina Schneider led Southridge with 11 kills and three blocks. Bella Schneider had 28 set assists and Adella Olesiak 23 digs for the Panthers.

The Vikings travel to Silver Bay on October 20 to face the Silver Bay Mariners in a matchup of two Northshore rivals. Then two days later, take the bus to Two Harbors to play the Agates. Both games should be competitive with each team very familiar with each other. Go Vikings!
