The Cook County High School girls’ softball team gave up four runs in the first inning to Moose Lake Willow River and could never catch up, losing 10-0 in an away game played Tuesday, May 24.
Morgan Starkey was two for two at the plate. She was the only Viking to get a hit.
Moose Lake pitchers didn’t give up a walk in the game and struck out 16.
Kallie Anderson was on the mound for the Vikings. Kallie pitched five innings, giving up ten runs, 11 hits, four walks and one strike out.
The game ended after six innings of play because of the ten-run rule.
