He stole second and then took third base on a ground out to Carpenter who threw to Patrick Pierre at first base for the out. No. 15 scored on ground out to Sandstrom at third who threw to first for the force out. The next batter ground out to Tate Crawford at second. Crawford threw to Pierre for the force out and the inning was over.

Aurora’s starting pitcher threw five and one third innings. He gave up three hits and struck out four in his shutout win.

The Vikings best chance to score came in the top of the fifth. Amos Falter led off with a single and Isaac Sandstrom bunted into a fielder’s choice. The bunt was picked up by the pitcher who threw Falter out at second. J Shannon struck out looking for two outs. Jacob Carpenter walked and Sandstrom advanced to second. Up next, Hunter Gomez walked to load the bases. Sandstrom tried to steal home and was tagged out to end the inning. It was bittersweet but the Vikings were oh so close to tying the game.
