Vikings fall to Ogilvie

Ogilvie came to Grand Marais on October 19 and beat the CCHS Vikings 50-14. With the loss the Vikings record fell to 4-3 while Ogilvie’s win pushed their record to 6-2, 5-0 in their conference.

The Ogilvie Lions led 14 -0 after one quarter and extended their lead to 36-6 at the half. The Lions added one more touchdown and two-point conversion in the third and the Vikings scored a touchdown and two-point conversion in the fourth.

Hunter Rex was 5-15 for 66 yards. He threw one touchdown, a 60-yard completion to Ryan Christiansen and Hunter rushed for one touchdown. He led the team in rushing on two carries for 71 yards. Hunter, under a heavy rush, was intercepted three times and fumbled once. The Vikings fumbled twice more recovering one.

Kole Anderson led in tackles with 16. Ray Dressely had nine tackles, Recko Helmerson eight, Ryan Christiansen eight, Rohan Rude seven, Rayce Gibson six, Ben Rex four, Arlo Christensen and Payton Morrison three, and Ethan Tate, Cade Smith, Calvin Battees, Macoy Fairbanks and Reuben Youngdahl each had one tackle.
