Nope, we didn’t make it. Going into Friday’s section track finals, we had hopes of getting the first state meet qualifier in track at CCHS in the last 20 years.

Senior Losha Senty had qualified for the finals as the number five runner in both the 200 meter dash and the 400 meter run. Eighth grader Kieran Scannell was the number three

qualifier in the 3200 (two mile) run.

Losha was about a second behind the leaders in his races, a fairly significant margin in races that take less than 25 seconds and about 52 seconds, respectively. Kieran was three seconds behind in an event that takes about 10 minutes. That is a manageable difference, although in reality there were eight boys that were all very close in time, half of them with strong cross country credentials from last fall.
