Vikings beat Lakeview Academy in three straight sets to advance in the playoffs

Playing at home, the Cook County Vikings volleyball team faced off against the Lakeview Christian Academy Lions on Monday, October 24 in a Section 7 play-off game and came away with a victory.

Getting strong play at the net from middle hitters/ outside hitter Katie Peck, who leads team in spikes and service aces, as well as Emmalli Myers, Maggie Smith and a good bump and set game from Allie Duclos, Kalina Dimitrova, Anna Helmerson, Molly Quello, Makenzie Fairbanks, Haile Wiele, Trinity Rude, and Taylor Everson, the Vikings were the better team, winning in three straight. The Vikings took game one 25-12, game two 25-16 and game three 25-20. The scores were almost identical to the last time these two teams met, with the Vikings taking that match 25-14, 15-16 and 25-20.

With the win the Vikings are now 7-9 and 4-7 in conference play.

On Wednesday, October 26, the Vikings traveled to Floodwood to take on the Polar Bears. Floodwood’s record is 20-8. The Vikings played Floodwood on October 4 and lost 25-12, 25-9, 25-18. Go Vikings!
