Following a perfect regular season, a conference and section championship, it came as no surprise that several of Cook County’s talented volleyball players won post-season honors for their outstanding play on the court.
Both of the Sutton sisters, Linden, a senior, and Meredith, a sophomore, were named First Team Polar League All Conference. Maddy Roy was named to the Second Team while seniors Alex Slanga and Lily Gruber- Schulz earned Honorable Mention.
Meredith Sutton was also named All State Honorable Mention while Maddy Roy and Sara Carman were named to the Academic All-State team.
Late Wednesday, November 18, it was learned that Meredith and Linden Sutton were named to the Duluth News- Tribune All-Area team.
The Vikings were the only team in the state (out of 400-plus schools) to finish the regular season undefeated. This is the first time a Viking volleyball team qualified for the state tournament.
