Cook County managed one run in the first inning and then was held scoreless in their Section 7A playoff game against the South Ridge Panthers in a game played in Ely on Tuesday, June 1.
The Panthers put up three runs in the first, six in the second and six more in the third and two more in the fourth to take a 17-1 victory over the Vikings.
The Panthers ended with 15 hits to four for the Vikings.
Anna Helmerson singled on an 0-1 count to drive in the Vikings lone run.
Leading 8-1, South Ridge scored six more runs in the third inning to bust the game wide open. A home run by M. Lisic capped off the big inning for the Panthers.
Kallie Anderson was on the mound for the Vikings. Kallie gave up 17 runs on 15 hits over three innings, striking out one.
Olesiak took the win for South Ridge. She surrendered one run on four hits while striking out three and not walking anyone.
The Vikings committed six errors while South Ridge didn’t commit any errors.
Anna Helmerson, Katie Peck, Allie Duclos, and Kallie Anderson all had hits for the Vikings.
