The Cook County High School boys’ varsity tennis team traveled to Duluth on Thursday, April 12 to open their competitive season against Duluth Denfeld. The matches were played at the old Duluth Central High School tennis courts, located on the hill overlooking Duluth and its harbor. The weather was cool and a little windy, which is common for this location.

The boys’ varsity tennis team is still two players short of a full roster (10), but they went into the match with a lot of confidence with six returning players and two new rookies. The Vikings had to forfeit one match at #3 doubles, because they only had eight players.

The final team score was Duluth Denfeld – 4, Cook County – 3.

Come cheer on the boys’ varsity tennis team next Thursday, April 26, 4:00 p.m., as they take on a tough Duluth East boys’ tennis team on our home courts.
