Two Harbors was too much for the boys’ basketball team, taking a 72-32 win on the Agates’ home floor.
The game was played Friday, January 29. The Viking girls’ game was cancelled.
Cook County and Two Harbors were even at 6-6 when the Agates started to pull away. The Vikings trailed 27-16 midway in the first half and then, behind good defense that led to a lot of fast breaks, the Agates ran the score to 57-18.
While this was the third game for the Vikings, the Agates were playing in their seventh contest.
After the game, Vikings Head Coach Andy Feddema had this to say, “Yea, it was a tough game from the scoring perspective. We played hard like usual but just couldn’t keep up with their guards. Paul Dorr and Derek Smith both finished with 13 points.”
The Vikings’ next game is against Barnum at home on Friday, February 5, at 6:30 p.m. They also play at home the next day (Saturday, February 6) against Hill City at 2:45 p.m. Check the school’s homepage to see if these games will be available to be viewed via live streaming. Due to COVID-19 rules, only parents and close relatives are allowed to see the games in-person.
