The Cook County High School boys’ varsity basketball team traveled to Cromwell on Friday, February 12, to face the Cromwell Cardinals.

“It was a close game for most of the first half, with the score being 18-14, Cromwell with under six minutes left, and we ran out of steam after that,” said Viking Head Coach Andy Feddema. “The boys played hard, and never let the score dictate their effort level.”

Cromwell won the game going away 69-22.

Paul Dorr lead Viking scorers with 14 points. Jacob Dorr finished with four, Ethan Poulin had two and Derek Smith had two.

Vikings lose to Esko

The Vikings took another road trip, traveling to Esko on Tuesday, February 16, to face what has traditionally been a strong program. This year, however, the Eskimos came into the game with a 3-5 record and they were 0-2 in section play. Still the Vikings are young and only have one victory in five games, so it was an uphill battle, and the boys fell 79-31.

“We played hard and executed well on offense, shooting 63 percent from the field,” said Head Coach Andy Feddema. “Our problem was turnovers, too many turnovers that led to easy points. Give credit to Esko, they are a good team and it was a tough match-up for us.”

Paul Dorr led all scorers with 16 points. Tate Crawford had six points and seven rebounds. Jacob Dorr had five points. Derek Smith had four points.
