Behind the Smoke Screen: Protecting Our Kids from Addiction will address questions you might have about teens’ use of tobacco company’s newest products: Electronic Nicotine Delivery Devices (ENDs). While the use of commercial tobacco has been declining, its use is still the number 1 preventable cause of disease and death. ENDs are designed to look like anything from markers to zip-drives and taste like everything from candy to cake, and they’re hooking Big Tobacco’s next generation of “replacement smokers.”
Amanda Casady of the American Lung Association will be presenting.
Join us as we learn about the current landscape of tobacco use in Cook County, what trends are emerging, and how we can protect our children from commercial tobacco addiction.
The class, which is free to the public, will be held March 16 at the Cook County Community Center from noon to 1 p.m. Bring your lunch and bring a friend.
