Update on American Legion Post 413

To the members of the Post 413, and the public, the post home at Grandma Ray’s has been sold. This was a situation beyond our control, a consequence of the last year’s COVID-19 turmoil.

We, as a post, will continue to be active: assisting and helping veterans, performing military honors at funerals, recognizing Memorial Day and Veterans Day with ceremonies. We will also continue the flag display at Grand Marais Harbor Park and march in parades.

In the coming weeks, Post officers will be exploring possible sites for a future post home: a place to hold our monthly meetings and have ceremonial dinners, and get together and enjoy each other’s company.

I know many people enjoyed a meal and an evening out at the American Legion in the past. It was always the place to be during the picnic. It will be greatly missed.

Legion Post 413
