Do you have a family member or a friend suffering from dementia and you don’t quite know how to help them?
If you want to learn more, Jenna Pogorels of the Alzheimer’s Association will be at the Sawooth Mountain Clinic classroom on Wednesday, Nov. 7, 3:30 – 5 p.m. with information to share.
Behavior is a powerful form of communication and one of the primary ways for people with dementia to communicate their needs and feelings as language abilities are lost.
However, some behaviors can present real challenges for caregivers. Join us to learn how to decode behavioral messages, identify common triggers, and learn strategies to help intervene with the most common behavioral challenges of Alzheimer’s disease.
The program is presented free of charge by Care Partners with funding from the Cook County Community Fund. Refreshments will be provided.
