Two sides to Black Lives Matter

Unrest is continuing in our country, attributed to the death of George Floyd. It is curious that rioters were asked if they knew who George Floyd was and the answer was negative. I applaud those people who genuinely are concerned for the rights of individuals and take their time and energy to raise public awareness for justice; I thank them for this. My concern is that it seems there is a divide of those that support Black Lives Matter (BLM) and those that believe the BLM movement is a Marxist based group that also has connections to terrorist groups. I think the common thought among both groups is that we all want justice for everyone in our nation; justice for one is justice for all.

The name of the group, Black Lives Matter, is an emotion producing title that automatically draws people in, making an easy way to organize people around that cause. The emotional charge of the title, the need of action to correct injustice may override the sense to take time to research who the leaders of BLM are, who in their own words, are marxist trained and fully support taking down our Constitution to establish another communist country. I wonder how many people know what God has to say about human behavior.

In Proverbs 6: 16 & 17 there is a list of seven things God hates:

1. A haughty look

2. A lying tongue

3. Hands that shed innocent blood

4. A heart that plots wicked schemes

5. Feet swift in running to do evil

6. A false witness who lies with every breath

7. Sowing strife among brothers

I’m not in favor of ending up like Venezuela, which is where Black Lives Matter leaders have been to support Maduro, the Marxist dictator that has thrown that country into despair and starving people much like communist dictators Stalin, Mao and Pol Pot (these three alone have caused an estimate of up to 120 million deaths).

The BLM and Antifa ‘protesters’ have destroyed people’s stores, livelihood and safety in many cities in the US while state and local governments have stood by to give them license for such outrageous activity. I believe this is the outcome of throwing God out of our mainstream life and adopting man’s way to fill the void. The people and local governments that support such activity (rioting that has killed people and destroyed businesses) cannot be condoned. God has a better idea: His truth, His justice equals life. Lies, destruction equal death.

Again, I think there should be unification in standing against injustice to Black people, to all people. Wouldn’t it be better if we all stood for the peaceful resolution of holding those accountable to the laws already on the books rather than taking flight to the destruction of our country? With all this good energy for the dignity and justice for Black lives, wouldn’t it be awesome if there was any outcry for the estimated 30 million black babies killed by abortion?
