Two new grant programs for regional arts

A new small capital grant program makes it possible for non-profit arts organizations and individual artists to request up to $1,500 to purchase equipment or services to enhance their artistic goals. A person or group making a request to this grant program is required to have a 10 percent cash match. This grant program is intended to help the artists or non-profit arts organizations address capital needs without compromising their programming budgets.

The first deadline for this grant program is Jan. 28, 2011.

A new two-year administrative support grant program makes it possible for arts organizations to request up to $10,000 over a two-year period. A person or group making a request to this grant program is required to have a 20 percent match. The primary purpose for these grants is to allow organizations two years of consistent funding in support for ongoing administrative needs and services or to cover vital operating expenses in times of transition. It is the hope of ARAC that recipients will find themselves more stable at the end of the two-year period. Funds can be flexibly spent across the two years. Thefirst deadline for this grant program is Jan. 28, 2011.
