Two Grand Marais residents are among students who received diplomas from the University of St. Thomas this spring. They also were named to the spring semester dean’s list, having achieved a grade point average of 3.5 or more.
Tait Sande earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration/legal studies.
Tait is a 2007 graduate of Cook County High School. He is the son of Steve and Nancy Sande of Grand Marais.
Sommer Smith graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration/ accounting. Sommer is a 2008 graduate of Cook County High School. She is the daughter of Scott Smith and Kristine Barton of Grand Marais.
St. Thomas, founded in 1885, is a Catholic independent liberal arts university. With a coeducational student body numbering more than 10,000, the St. Paul university is Minnesota’s largest independent college or university.
