Two injured in a motorcycle accident



Two Forman, North Dakota residents were injured when their motorcycle went off road at 569 Gunflint Trail near the Grand Marais water tower.

The accident was called into the Cook County Law Enforcement dispatch at 10:39 a.m. on Tuesday, August 9. Law enforcement arrived on the scene three minutes later at 10:42 a.m.

Scott Allen Buckhouse was the driver of the motorcycle. His passenger was Michelle Larae Edwards. Both were thrown into the ditch, and Edwards was unconscious when law enforcement arrived.

Buckhouse stated he was coming around the curve and he hit the front of the brake hard, ending up in the gravel. He tried to keep the bike up, but he stated they must have hit something which caused them to come to an abrupt stop and they were thrown over the handlebars.

Grand Marais firefighters were called to the accident scene. The North Shore Hospital ambulance was called, and the two victims were taken to the hospital. No information was available about the conditions of the two accident victims at press time.
