North House Folk School in Grand Marais reminds residents that spaces remain in two Core of Craft courses yet this spring. Through Core of Craft, yearround Cook County residents can qualify for reduced tuition rates on specific courses focused on skills for self-sufficiency. If you or someone you know are interested, contact North House for more information.
The next Core of Craft course is Blacksmithing: Crafting the Tools of the Trade Tuesday, May 21-Thursday, May 23.
Also coming up in May is Build Thoreau’s Cabin Wednesday, May 22-Sunday, May 26.
To apply, interested students should submit a Core of Craft registration form, available throughout the community on bulletin boards or at North House. Stop by the North House campus or call (218) 387-9762 for more information.
Registration for this program is not available online. Core of Craft is funded through the Shirley Hansen Memorial Fund.
