Cook County has scheduled a second Truth in Taxation meeting that will take place Tuesday, December 8, at 6:00 p.m. The meeting will be held via Zoom, and County residents who wish to participate can access a link by visiting the County’s home page at co.cook.us.mn.
County leaders decided to hold a second meeting (technically a continuation of the December 1 meeting) after learning that meeting and tax assessment notices were delayed in the mail. The December 8 meeting will be identical to the December 1 meeting in format, and residents can comment on the proposed 2021 levy in one of three ways:
1. via Zoom videoconference at us02web.zoom.us/j/81068616482?pwd=cnd2SURzOGlXQVFXZEFlUWVHVzZJdz09,
2. via telephone at 877-853-5247, 888-788-0099, 833-548-0276 or 833-548-0282 (Meeting
ID: 810 6861 6482, Passcode: 491234), or
3. by sending written testimony to the Cook County Administrator’s office atjames.joerke@co.cook.mn.us, or by USPS to: County Administrator’s Office 411 West 2nd St., Suite 1800 Grand Marais, MN 55604.
“We want to make sure that residents whose meeting and assessment notices were delayed in the mail have every opportunity to comment on the proposed 2021 tax levy,” said County Administrator James Joerke. “Continuing the meeting to December 8 will give everyone who wants to speak the opportunity to do so.”
