True Easter

From simplest form of Life
LOVE evolved a Husband-Wife.
One in covenant they’d be,
LOVE’S true image: ONE in THREE.
LOVE endowed them Freedom’s Choice:
“Listen you may to any voice!
The Choice you make, it must be known,
Is no one else’s but your own.”
“In this you truly Image me!
I too am bound from Eternity
by what I say, by what I do.
To my own Self, I must be true.”
They made a choice, which they denied.
Then Adam and Eve denied they’d lied.
They chose to live by ‘Me’ alone,
hiding, indifferent, unknown!
Condemned to Chaos of the Night,
their lives became an endless flight.
In angst and labor doomed to roam,
their final rest—Death—their home.
One day in pain as from a womb
LOVE arose from Earth’s cold tomb
and broke their chains of Death’s strong hold.
Proclaimed deliverance, strong and bold.
LOVE anew taught them to sing.
“O Death, where is your threat, your sting?
Flee from us all you Mares of Night,
We shall arise in Easter Light!”
“To our own Self we will be true,
as we accept the things we do.
Be wrong our deeds, we take the blame
and rise above, freed from shame.”
As Sun arose that Easter morn
it found an Earth, alive, reborn
and in the mist in LOVE’s embrace,
Adam and Eve, alight in grace.
