Trudy Boyd, 93, of Grand Marais, passed away on Sunday, July 11, 2021, at North Shore Health in the Care Center.
Trudy was born on April 1, 1928, in Dallas, Texas. While she was living in South Carolina during WWII, she met her first husband Norman Pederson. After the war, they moved to Grand Marais and lived at the Pederson homestead on Maple Hill. There she raised her family of 8 children. She worked at the veneer plant and later in janitorial and housekeeping services at the hospital in Grand Marais
She enjoyed gardening, watching wildlife, and was a gifted artist, something she and her husband Tom shared together as their lifelong hobby. Her love for flowers found her in her gardens early in the morning tending to her beautiful plants. Her paintings included flowers, birds, and nature scenery. Trudy was truly loved by all that knew her. She will be missed by all.
Trudy was preceded in death by her first husband Norman Pederson; second husband Tom Boyd; children Norma Smith, Susan Pederson, Scott Pederson, Jill Pederson, and Janiece Ramie. She is survived by her sons, Richard Pederson, and John Pederson both of Grand Marais, Theodore Pederson of Anchorage, Alaska; stepchildren Sue Boyd, Ginnie Hail and Kathy Pagnac; grandchildren Joni Larrabee, Teri Petermann, and Richy Pederson; stepgrandchildern Joe Fairbanks, Sheila Lamb, Winter Kloss, Misty Boyd, Gary Hail, Nikki Cosentino, Dawn Pagnac and Tom Pagnac; and several great-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.
