Trooper Carpenter to sing national anthem at Vikings game Sunday

Minnesota State Trooper Leah Carpenter from Grand Marais will be singing the national anthem, this Sunday, September 18, as the Minnesota Vikings honor law enforcement and emergency responders during the game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Metrodome in Minneapolis at noon.

Captain Steve Stromback states, “It is a great honor to have one of our own playing such a prominent role.”

Carpenter has been a trooper for over 15 years and comes from a distinguished family of troopers. Her late father Jim Erickson was a trooper stationed in Bagley, while her brother Joe Erickson is currently a state trooper also stationed in Bagley. Another brother, Karl Erickson works as a deputy for Polk County in Northwest Minnesota.”
