Trinity Lutheran Church hosts fundraiser for Haiti

Following the devastation left by the 2010 earthquake that rocked and shocked Haiti, the impoverished citizens of Haiti were left to rebuild, and many never got out of tents or shacks before the arrival of Hurricane Matthew. While some Haitians were lucky enough to shelter in caves, more than 1,000 died when the winds and rains of Matthew destroyed their homes.

And today, schools and hospitals are overflowing with displaced people, some suffering from the ill effects of malnutrition and disease from tainted water.

So what can you do if you live in northern Minnesota?

If you live in Hovland you can attend the Lake Superior Fish Cake and Ham Supper at Trinity Lutheran Church on Saturday, October 29 from 4:40 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Cost for adults is $10 and for children $5. Kids less than 6 years old eat for free.

Proceeds from the meal will be sent to Trinity’s ministry partners in Bigonet, Haiti as they recover from Hurricane Matthew.

Trinity Lutheran Church is located at 4957 E. Highway 61, in Hovland.
