The parent company of the Assisted Living Facility in Silver Bay, Carefree, is Spectrum Health. They are interested in exploring the possibility of building a new facility here in Grand Marais. As reported in the Cook County News-Herald, Spectrum and Carefree representatives held an informational meeting here at the Senior Center on May 7. A crowd of over 50 people attended. The next step that Spectrum Health needs is a feasibility study for our county. This study has historically been paid for by the local government or hospital. Please help us get the ball rolling—speak to your local commissioners and city council members. Express the need for this type of facility here in Grand Marais. Let’s keep our seniors here in the community!
