Adding some extra excitement to the Gichigami Express Sled Dog Race, Sarah Hamilton, owner of Trail Center Lodge, and the founder of the wilderness food line Camp Chow has announced a special prize for the three-day stage race. She will be giving away $500 cash to two lucky mushers!

Hamilton has been a long supporter of the John Beargrease Sled Dog Marathon, the Gunflint Mail Run and the Mush For A Cure. Trail Center Lodge is a must-stop destination for anyone who travels up the Gunflint Trail out of Grand Marais.

The rules of the giveaway are that the musher must be planning on leaving the Trail Center for the second stage of the Gichigami Express and be present when the draw is done prior to the mushers’ meeting. All musher names will be placed in an old Gunflint Mail Run bag and two names will be drawn and those mushers will receive $500 cash.

Good luck mushers!
